Alexandra has been active professionally as a translator since 2002, and has been working on a full-time freelance basis since Spring/Summer 2004. A native English speaker translating from both French and German, after graduating with a Master’s Degree in Translation she underwent practical training with a major international company in France for one year and is now based in Germany. She has so far translated an extremely varied mixture of business and industrial documents, contracts, publicity materials, technical user manuals, websites and much more. Areas include advertising / marketing, the arts, tourism, sports events, food labelling, business and commerce, human resources and industrial health and safety.

Stephen was born in southern England in 1968 and since secondary school has made the study and use of languages a major part of both his professional and private life. After graduating in Modern Languages at the Polytechnic of Central London in 1991, he worked variously for a UK publishing house and two financial institutions before returning to the Polytechnic of Central London, which had since been renamed the University of Westminster, to undertake a Master of Arts degree in Technical and Specialised Translation. He translates from both French and German into British English.

Stephen has translated and proofread a variety of documents, ranging from texts on insulin therapy, contracts, press releases and marketing material to company presentations, individual CVs and defence policy documents. He has also translated items of sports journalism, which were subsequently published in book format in 2004 by Weidenfeld and Nicolson, London.

He enjoys maintaining close contact with all his clients and is available for translation projects at any time of day, including weekends (and will also work through the night when an unexpected translation is urgently needed). Reliability, confidentiality and a friendly, professional approach to work and client relations are his guiding principles.
