Eva Maria was born in Saarbrücken, close to the border to France and Luxembourg, in 1979. She studied translation and interpreting at the Saarland University from 1998 until 2003 and graduated as a fully certified translator for French, English and Spanish. She supplemented her studies with a Master of Arts degree in French and English conference interpreting at the Johannes-Gutenberg-University in Mainz (Germersheim). After several stays abroad, including in London, Paris and Barcelona, Eva selected Saarbrücken as her professional residence. She travels from here to carry out her interpreting assignments, which are mostly concentrated in this region. She was first contacted by Jean-François Bunouf for translation projects for BeTranslated in 2007, and since then has worked mainly in the fields of marketing, law, IT, tourism and politics.

Doris is an Austrian native and graduated from the University of Vienna, in 1991, with an M.A. in Translation Studies for English and Portuguese. After that, she went to teach German and Translation Studies at University College Cork in Ireland. After five years of academia, she acquired a Diploma in Media Studies, which led to an in-house position with a big localisation company in Dublin. Two years later, and experienced in all kinds of file formats, CAT tools, software programs, and country specific issues, she decided to go freelance and hasn’t looked back since.

In 2001, she went travelling for a year with her partner and two children, translating her way through Asia, Australia and the North and South American continents. Getting a taste for the art of truly global localisation, she based herself in New Zealand where she is taking advantage of the sun and the time difference – she now works whilst her European and North American clients sleep and delivers when they get up.

She translates mainly from English into German.

Her areas of expertise are IT-related material, hardware, telecommunications, online learning, software license agreements, computer games, and – her love and joy – educational software for children. On her to-do list is still the translation of a travel book and a book on Middle Eastern dance.

Anna-Maria has been freelance translating since 1997, after receiving the Diploma in Translation from the Institute of Linguists, London. When she is not behind the PC, you may find her reading at the beach, browsing through travel picture books or tasting wine, and Anna-Maria will tell you: „I’m working..., collecting words!”? And that has always been the inspiration at the heart of her work: to connect the craft and enthusiasm for word-smithery with expanding her horizon in other fascinating fields like tourism, psychology, oenology or children’s literature.? The result is eminent in her translations for Hilton, Marriott and Kempinski Hotels, TAG Heuer, Rolex, Gallo Wines, Howard Park Winery or Parragon Publishing. Imagine how proud she was to find her translation of a bible for children to be No. 1 on the best selling list for religious books of the Weltbild publishing group in July – before the memoirs of the Pope! She regurlary translates from English to German and French to German and sometimes from Spanish to German.

Born and raised in Dresden, Germany, Stefan studied Applied Economics, Political Science, and Sociology in Trier and Toronto before starting to work for a multinational insurance company. His taste for languages and travels made him soon leave Germany to travel to Canada, the United States and most of the Latin American subcontinent where he spent quite a lot of time. He stabilized in Dominican Republic where he stayed a few years, working as an in-house translator for an important start up company. He then decided to see another part of the world and Stefan goes on travelling through Asia and translating on a daily basis. The Internet caused a major change in his life, as the Web allows him to travel while staying in contact with his clients. Stefan specializes in Economics, IT (computing, Internet, networks, hardware etc.), Insurance, Press Releases and of course Tourism and Travel. He translates from English and Spanish to German.
